How do you work with portfolio companies?
The most valuable thing we will do is give you capital to pursue your vision. We do not work with people who need our help. We support founders who understand their strengths and identify how we can accelerate their work in the early going. We don’t offer a menu of services or a buffet of ex-executives on call. When we invest, you work with both Eric and Willem.
Engagement is specific to each company but our aim is to match your energy, creativity, and intensity.
What companies have you invested in?
We have made several investments since forming Terrain, including Base Power and Bridge. Our unannounced investments are in areas including developer platforms, longevity, and AI infrastructure.
Our past venture and/or personal investments include Flock Safety, Check, Lattice, the Browser Company, Figma, Built Robotics, Homebase, Cadence, and more.
How many investments do you plan to make each year?
We are selective and focused in our work and tend to make fewer, high conviction investments.
Do you lead rounds?
We lead rounds and in select situations will collaborate alongside others.
Do you invest in later stage companies?
Right now we are focused exclusively on pre-product market fit companies. Often these companies are raising their first outside capital.
